Development of Computer Vision-enabled Augmented Reality Games to Increase Motivation for Sports

This research paper presents the development of computer vision-enabled augmented reality games based on action detection to increase motivation for sports. With increasing popularity digital games, physical activity and sports participation have been declining, especially among younger generation. To address this issue, we developed a series that require players perform actions progress succeed in game. These were using vision technology detect players' movements provide real-time feedback, enhancing gaming experience promoting activity. The results our user study showed participants who played reported higher levels engage findings suggest can be an effective tool promote participation, generations.
